Forty years ago Border Fine Arts was founded in an eighteenth-century farmhouse in Langholm deep in the countryside. A team of creative sculptors including master sculptor Ray Ayres have been producing quality animal figurines for decades. Their attention to detail is paramount to the Border Fine Arts brands today as it was back in 1974, when the first figurines made from bronze and silver were created.
Classic is the brand’s flagship range and is mainly limited edition sculptures made and painted by hand in Scotland. Whether a wildlife figurine such as an African elephant, a horse or other wildlife creature, each one is thoroughly studied to ensure that it is very realistic before the sculpture is produced.
The Studio collection offers a wider range of animals from traditional farming scenes , wildlife and pets. The comical quirky character ranges is designed with humour which brings a smile. . The sculptors and designers are meticulous in their approach, particularly for licensed ranges such as Beatrix Potter and Winnie the Pooh.
BFA Contemporary, the third brand, concentrates on creating humorous but stylish ornaments.
